How do you select the ideal accelerator for your startup?

Some time ago, I published this article on Forbes, which provides insights on 8 things to consider before applying to an accelerator.

Here below is a short updated summary:

🚀 Niche, Please: Does the program cater to your startup's stage and sector? Be honest about your situation to avoid struggling with overpromised funding.

🎯 What's In It For Me? Define your craving. Is it the wisdom of mentors you seek or the allure of cold, hard cash? Focus on filling the gap with your next step. Most of the time, the answer isn't just 💰

🧠 Wisdom Shopping: Yearning for legal lore or go-to-market mojo? Prioritize your understanding quest to ensure your chosen program offers a healthier direction for your venture.

🤹 Greedy Much?: Are you dabbling in multiple programs? Ensure they complement your growth spree, especially if global expansion is on your agenda. But remember, time is still very finite.

🌐 Virtual or In-person?: Decide if you're game for digital detachment or physical camaraderie, and consider your wallet and watch in the equation.

The Long Haul: Quick fixes are seductive, but true metamorphosis demands time. Align with a program that doesn't ghost you post-haste.

🗣️ Alumni Tea Spilling: Dig into the lore and lessons from those who've tread the path. Get the good, the bad, and the unvarnished truths to steer your choice.

Today I add one more element:

Talk to the general manager, director, or, if possible, to the founders to understand their business approach, how they make money, motivations, culture, and branding approach.

See if these aspects align with your values and expectations. I'll be doing a similar evaluation from my end during our Zoom call
